Popularity Instills Trust

Anyone who has ever bought anything has most likely read reviews. If a company has high reviews, this automatically instills trust in the company and they are more likely to get the sale compared to a no-name business or one that is just starting out. Flaunt your popularity! Did 3,000 people download your piece of content? State it on the landing page or form so a new user sees that this is a genuine, good piece of content that they too should download.

The Bandwagon Effect

It’s a natural tendency for humans to copy one another, even without realizing it – we like to be a part of tribes and social communities. So when we notice our social circle is doing one thing, we tend to follow suit. One great way to make an offer more valuable is to show that other people are participating in that offer.

Below is an example of this method. By stating that they are joining over 2,000 other people, this instills in their head that it has been proven to work and a potential lead may be more apt to click since there is less of a possibility of a scam.

Advertise your success for more leads

Here are some examples:

  • Webinars: On a page promoting our webinar with Facebook, we’ve stated that more than 40,000 have signed up.
  • Blog Subscription: Similarly, on a blog under the “subscribe” module, it indicates over 130,000 people have subscribed. This is proof that it’s a highly trustworthy and popular blog people should follow.
  • Conferences: Events like SXSW and INBOUND are some of the hottest events because tons of people flock to them every year. On an ad for the conference, you could say “Attended by over 2 million people last year,” to catch people’s attention.

Think of it this way, when your offer is shared more, more people land on the page, and therefore more people fill out your form and become leads! Just make sure your claims are not only true, but believable.
