Case

Situated in one of the most picturesque wilderness areas in Northern Ontario, Marten River Lodge was a well-kept secret for much of their 88-year history. Opened to the public in 1925, they had maintained their rustic appeal with full hunting and fishing accommodations, but were finding it difficult to strike the balance between family resort and sportsman’s paradise. When V2Works was brought in, we identified the key challenges they faced, and established a game plan for an updated identity, new website, refreshed property photography, and engaging marketing collateral.

Strategy

The first step towards the new Marten River was capturing exciting new photography of the expansive beauty of the property, which V2Works did by traveling 3,000 miles to the wilds of northeast Canada, camera gear in tow. Via ATV, we spent 4 full days shooting the lodge, cabins, and grounds both inside and out. Using this extensive new library of imagery, we shaped the Lodge’s new identity around their vision of a welcoming family-friendly wilderness resort. A streamlined new website and dynamic marketing materials showed not only the adventure waiting for sportsmen, but also the charming lodge and warm family atmosphere.

Results

With their inviting new identity and collateral, Marten River Lodge enjoyed a dramatic increase in bookings, showing an increase in new visitors by as much as 40% during summer, their most important season of the year.
